"Last year was my first season on the grass. I was looking forward to coming back this year. It feels very relaxed and comfortable and I love this surface.

"I am still learning a lot and trying to trust myself more and trust the process. There's a lot of work going on but I definitely learn a little more to play on grass."

Boulter gets a great winner at break point, flicking a volley out of Shnaider's reach at the end of a rally. Her opponent's forehand then clips the net but drops out and Boulter can close out the hold here.

This is in danger of drifting away from Boulter as she finds herself 30-0 down on her serve but she digs deep and a couple of strong first serves are too hot for Shnaider to handle and she draws level at 30-30.

Boulter battles in this game to try and break back immediately but there's frustration as a shot down the line at 40-30 is just out, and Shnaider then rattles off an ace on the way to a hold.

Boulter saves another two break points - that's five in total in her last two service games - but then double faults before planting a return into the net and Shnaider breaks.

Boulter didn't succeed with any of her first serves in the opening game of this set so that needs to improve.

The British number one drops the first point of this game with a poor return at the net, Shnaider charging up to it seemingly unsettling her.

Shnaider is full of running now and despite Boulter's best attempts to stretch her the Russian nails a shot down the line and has two break points.

The crowd are giving Boulter plenty of encouragement now but it is a good hold by Shnaider, nailing her shot placement throughout.

Once again Shnaider does a really good job of drawing Boulter in and then sending a shot past her as she breezes through to win this game without dropping a point and sealing the second set.

We're going to a third set decider and the momentum is with Shnaider at the moment.

Set point for Shnaider but Boulter saves it with some fine serves to secure the hold, prompting a roar and a fist pump.
